LNA11 Legionnaires- ‘Super Soft’ Cassette EP
Picture Coming Soon.
Having recently returned from a hiatus in London it is only appropriate that this cassette comes from the London group Legionnaires. A four song EP of crunchy (more like leaves underfoot rather than Grape Nuts), irresistibly catchy pop tunes. Chocked full of sensibilities and influences from all across the spectrum, this tape will be instantly familiar whilst simultaneously refreshing. It rollicks through the first three songs and then ends with a massive, top of the pops style number which brings to mind pre-Raconteurs Brendan Benson. You may get calf cramps from all the foot tapping. Housed in turquoise 80’s style j-cards complete with Dolby markings and a dude wearing a Devo tee designed by Josh from Legionnaires. Dubbed on obnoxious toxic green cassettes in an edition of 100.
Pre-Order will ship on or before Feb. 10th

LNA10 Wild Safari//Cough Cool Split Cassette

Couldn’t be more proud of LNA’s first split. Two awesome projects of the highest calibre makes this c21 a doozy. This is Wild Safari’s first official release after a number of awesome tracks surfacing on the internerd. Been a fan of the Cough Cool project for a while now and I have to say his side of the split is my favorite stuff of his thus far. Weekend warrior tropic treks on the Wild Safari side and and a super chill, head nodding, enlightenment meditation pop songs on behalf of Cough Cool. You know you need it and your eyes may roll into the back of your head on first listen. Edition of 100.

LNA09 Secret Colors- “Lunar” Cassette

I first heard Matt Lawson’s Secret Colors project with his album ‘Reflections’ and was instantly hooked. Now he offers up his latest, a bubbling c40 called ‘Lunar’. Homespun ambient soundscapes taking you on a space trek without any sort of cliche spacey noise. Glitchy without being abrasive, hollowed out yet wholly satisfying. You’ll find a new jungle planet with this as the soundtrack. Its about to get humid. Edition of 100 space-clear cassettes with 50’s style spacey j-cards designed by Jeff Walls of Campfires.

LNA08 Campfires- “Burning Rivers, TV Flickers, Drifting Off To Bed” Cassette
PICTURE COMING SOON!
From Jeff Walls’ insert description, “These songs are about rust and deep water. These songs are about cold and dying, and about laying with your back on the sand in the summer and staring at stars. They are about a rundown little section of the United States and about how everything has a story and is TELLING a story and you just have to listen. The events in these songs all occur in one evening in a place that is mostly imaginary but is a lot like my hometown in southwestern Michigan. As the day rolls into night each little fragment of a story is swept up like dry leaves into the darkening sky. Everything isn’t going to be okay. We know that, and it’s alright.” Couldn’t be better said. Metropolitan rust belt vignettes drenched in sublimity. Like nothing I have ever heard. Edition of 100 dark, night blue tapes with j-card designed by Jeff Walls (Campfires) complete with descriptive insert and download for digitalized enjoyment. The tapes have all 8 songs on both sides, so just flip to enjoy again.

LNA06 pə-ˈrād- S/T Cassette

The pə-ˈrād (pronunciation key for Parade, therefore pronounced Parade) boys are recent alums of the uni I’m currently in attendance of and I saw them play in a basement last year right about the time I was brainstorming LNA and thought to myself, “Tape.” So, this baby has been a long time coming but now that its here I’m ecstatic. These tunes are groooovy. The guitar noodles and twangs it’s way through the steady, driving bass whilst the tom toms bang tribally thru the background. Ever so slightly reminiscent of Abe Vigoda, but pə-ˈrād is really its own beast. Complete with raise yr fist vocals, pə-ˈrād is best listened to LOUD. Limited to 100 lovingly made cassettes.

LNA05 CAT KILLER- ‘IT’S SAYING YOUR NAME’ CASSETTE

I first heard Dylan’s (Cat Killer) music through his demo ‘Word’s To Remember’ and if you dug that like I did this tape is sure to make you doubly, no triply ecstatic. ‘It’s Saying Your Name’ will make you feel great and as fall is already here, it is the perfect rainy day upper. It wavers and sways like trees in a torrential downpour yet simultaneously acting like a great pair of woolen socks keeping you warm and cozy inside. This is the bedroom pop you have always wished for. This tape is beautiful. A melancholy technicolour dream. LNA03 PURE ECSTASY- ‘FUTURE NOSTALGIA’ CASSETTE

Imagine: sitting around in a gazebo pretending that it’s still summr while the leaves around you are burnt orange and your friend just brought over ‘the best purple he’s ever smoked’ and your other friend is in this band that plays the haziest, most reverby music ever. The lead singer is a kinda a downer, but the longing in his voice makes the immanent summer’s end all the more real. The b-side flips two bowls later and ‘You’re In It Now.’ The sun is still out but the rain is coming down hard bringing the last of the crispy leaves to the ground. But it’s still warm out. And it’s not that Wild Turkey mixed with the dank, it’s Pure Ecstasy. This tape contains longer, more extended versions of the Pure X self-released 7″. Edition of 100 on royal blue tapes with appropriate beach hazed j-card. Comes with an mp3 download for digitalized enjoyment.

LNA02 FOREST SWORDS- ‘MIARCHES’ CASSINGLE

The one that really started it all. A dramatic trudge on the British coast filled with pulsing dubsoul and swampy bogged down peninsular drone feelings. Complete with slicing guitars and room filling swamp beats. I’m not really sure what any of that means, but this tape is some of the freshest dank around. Next level jams. There will also soon be a FS 12″ EP released by the splendid Olde English Spelling Bee. Pro-dubbed opaque yellow CS in legit o-card packaging designed by Matt Barnes (a.k.a. Forest Swords) in an edition of 125.
